Front counter
The oldest Wata Dontsu (A cotton carpet), “Nabeshima Dantsu” which had been a closely guarded skill of the Saga Nabeshima Clan, is on the floor of the front counter. A traditional pattern called “Kani Botan” (crab-shaped peony pattern) gives an exotic impression and shows the skill came from an oriental country through China.
 
프런트 데스크
사가 나베시마 항(佐賀鍋島藩)의 남다른 재주로, 문외불출이 지켜져 내려온 일본에서 가장 오래된 면 양탄자인 ‘나베시마 단츠(鍋島緞通: 사가 현에서 생산하는 면 양탄자)’를 깔아 놓은 프런트 데스크. ‘가니보탄(蟹牡丹: 모란꽃과 잎의 모양이 게 같다고 해서 붙여진 무늬 명칭)’이라고 불리는 전통 문양은 왠지 이국적인 느낌을 주어, 오리엔트・중국을 거쳐 나베시마(鍋島)로 전달된 일화를 설명해주는 듯합니다.
